Where the king of dates grows

In Egypt’s desert oases, Medjool palms ripen slowly through long, dry, sun-soaked days.

The harvest

Cut by hand, high in the crown

Bunches are cut at the soft tamar stage and lowered in baskets, so the fruit is never dropped.

Grading

Sorted by size, checked by hand

Every lot is inspected before packing, so a carton of Jumbo is Jumbo all the way through.

The orchard

Sun-ripened in the Nile Delta

Warm days, cool nights and Nile water build the sweetness and colour Egyptian oranges are known for.

Picking

Hand-picked at full colour

Fruit is clipped by hand into field crates to protect the peel — the first step to a long shelf life.

Washing

Washed, brushed and dried

Packhouse lines clean every orange; food-grade wax only where your market asks for it.

Grading

Sized and inspected by hand

Anything that isn’t export grade is removed before fruit is wrapped or packed loose.

The grove

Ancient trees of Sinai

Hardy old olive trees in rocky soil give small fruit with an intense, peppery flavour.

Harvest

Picked green to turning

Olives are combed onto nets while turning from green to violet — when aroma is at its best.

Washing

At the mill within hours

Fruit is leaf-cleaned and washed the same day it is picked, before oxidation can start.

Extraction

Cold-extracted, below 27 °C

Low-temperature mechanical extraction keeps the oil green, fresh and fragrant.

Laboratory

Every batch tested

Acidity, peroxide value and taste are checked before bottling. Extra virgin means acidity at or below 0.8%.
